WORX Guide to Choosing and Using Robot Lawn Mowers

WORX Guide to Choosing and Using Robot Lawn Mowers

A stunning lawn doesn’t mean sacrificing your weekends to mow or spending thousands of dollars each year on lawn care. Robotic lawn mowers offer a convenient, quiet, and safe solution for regular lawn maintenance, letting you spend more time doing what you love. If you want a beautiful lawn with less effort, noise, pollution, and expense, then a robotic lawn mower could be the perfect choice for you.

So, what is a Robot Lawn Mower?

This may seem obvious to many, but Robot Lawn Mowers are still considered relatively new in Australia.

Many Aussies only consider tending to their turf when it becomes overgrown and unsightly, and the judgey looks from neighbours become unbearable. Therefore, it is sometimes assumed that a robot lawn mower is designed to plough through thick, calf length lawn every other month whilst defining the edges with professional precision. The robots are good, but not that good!

Residential robotic lawn mowers, including the high-end models, are designed to maintain lawns by frequently trimming small amounts of grass rather than cutting through thick, overgrown grass. It is the robot’s job to ensure your lawn does not become overgrown, but a pre-installation mow helps the robot mower navigate the lawn and operate efficiently.

How Do Robot Lawn Mowers Work?

Robot lawn mowers use smart technology, spatial sensors, and remote-control features to automate grass cutting. Powered by clean, rechargeable batteries, they use navigation software to mow your lawn efficiently on a set schedule, returning to their charging dock when finished. These mowers make efficient use of electricity by clipping a small amount of grass several times a week. For larger lawns, they may need to recharge mid-cycle, resuming right where they left off to complete the task.

The vast majority of robot lawn mowers, like the Classic Landroid, require the installation of a boundary or perimeter wire to surround and define the mowing zones. However, the latest innovation in robotic lawn mowers removes the need for boundary wire installation. WORX Landroid Vision uses HD cameras and market leading AI tech to see your lawn and mow accordingly. WORX Landroid robot mowers are particularly agile and operate using unique mowing patterns and AIA technology to reduce grass wear.

Customise Your Lawn Care

For optimal results, use the WORX Landroid mobile app to customise your mowing schedule. The app can calculate your lawn size, set up custom schedules, manage multiple zones, and check the mower’s status remotely. The mower can also be programmed via its onboard LCD/LED screen. Landroid mowers are weather-resistant and have rain sensors to avoid mowing in the rain, returning to their charging dock when precipitation starts. Optional accessories like the Landroid Garage provide additional protection from harsh weather.

Choosing the Right Robotic Lawn Mower

When selecting a robotic lawn mower, consider your lawn size and slope. The size of your lawn, not your entire property, will determine the appropriate mower.

The WORX Landroid series offers options from basic models with superior features to fully customised versions for more specific needs.

Is a Robot Lawn Mower Worth It?

If you’re used to traditional petrol-powered mowers, robotic mowers might seem too good to be true. However, these efficient machines maintain your lawn perfectly, without supervision or emissions. They run quietly, day or night, saving you time and effort. Investing in a robotic mower could be the best decision you make for your lawn and the environment.

Understanding Robot Lawn Mowers: Misconceptions and Key Points

Understanding Robot Lawn Mowers: Misconceptions and Key Points

In an era where technology seamlessly integrates into every aspect of our lives, it comes as no surprise that our lawns are now benefiting from robotic assistance. However, like any innovation, robot lawn mowers operate optimally when users are well-informed about the nuances of its operation.

Three Things to Understand About Robot Lawn Mowers:

1. Pre-Install Mow: For initial setup, most residential robotic lawn mowers will require a pre-install mow to ensure the grass is at an optimal height for the mower to operate efficiently. This initial cut helps the mower navigate the lawn more efficiently and cut-to-edge.

2. Maintenance Machines: Once installed, robotic mowers maintain the lawn by cutting frequently, usually several times a week. This regular maintenance helps keep the grass at a consistent height and prevents it from becoming too thick or overgrown. The small clippings it removes on the regular generally go unnoticed to the human eye, while your lawn laps up the nutrients from those turf tips.

3. Slope Limitations: All Robotic Lawn Mowers have slope limitations. The vast majority of residential robots can manage gradients of up to 25% (14.5 degrees).  Classic LANDROID and LANDROID Vision are designed to handle inclines between 30 – 35% (17 – 19.27 degrees). If your lawn has steeper inclines, you may need to address these areas separately.

Popular Misconceptions About Robot Lawn Mowers:

Robot Mowers Are Only for Small Lawns

Reality: Many people believe robot mowers can only handle small areas. However, WORX LANDROID Robot Mowers have been developed and designed to maintain lawns up to 1500m2. There are currently 5 models on offer in Australia to suit your needs with the smallest catering to 600m2.

They Don’t Mow Properly:

Reality: Robotic lawn mowers use various mowing techniques to ensure an even and well-maintained lawn. The effectiveness of these techniques can influence the overall appearance and health of your lawn. For the most even cut, robotic lawn mowers that use systematic navigation or adaptive algorithms are generally the best options. These mowers provide efficient and thorough coverage of the lawn, ensuring that every area is mowed evenly. The WORX Landroid Series is renowned globally for its unique AIA (Artificial Intelligence Algorithm) technology to achieve the most consistent and even cut.

Installation Is Too Complicated:

Reality: Annoying? Yes. Complicated? No. At the end of the day, laying a boundary wire around your yard is widely considered an “effort”, but the future benefits outweigh the one-off experience. For those who refuse to even consider wires or beacons, make your sure check out the LANDROID Vision wire-free robot lawn mower.

They Are Expensive to Maintain:

Reality: While there is a higher initial cost for a feature rich, future-proof Robotic Lawn Mower, the ongoing costs are minimal. Like a traditional lawn mower, it is recommended that you replace your mower blades every 3-4 moths to ensure optimum performance. Considering those blades may be mowing every other day, $40 for a years supply isn’t too bad at all.

They Can’t Handle Complex Lawns

Reality: Advances in AI and sensor technology mean that many robot mowers can navigate complex lawns. LANDROID models use AIA (Artificial Intelligence Algorithm) technology, which allows for efficient navigation and mowing. While they require boundary wires to define the mowing area, they can still handle complex layouts within those boundaries, including narrow passages and multiple zones.

They Can’t Work in the Rain:

Reality: Robotic lawn mowers can technically operate in the rain (Classic Landroid’s have an IPX4 rating & Landroid Vision’s have IPX5), but it is generally not recommended due inferior grass cutting quality. Wet grass tends to tear rather than cut cleanly, which can lead to a ragged appearance and increased susceptibility to disease. Best to let your robot return to the charging station if the weather becomes too harsh.

Understanding the true capabilities and limitations of robot lawn mowers can help you make an informed decision. By debunking popular misconceptions and knowing the key aspects of how these machines work, you can better appreciate the benefits they offer.

Whether you choose a traditional LANDROID model with boundary wires or an advanced AI-driven model like the LANDROID Vision, you can enjoy a well-maintained lawn with minimal effort.

The 5 Essential Garden Power Tools For Lawn Care

The 5 Essential Garden Power Tools For Lawn Care

When it comes to the ongoing, repetitive task of lawn care around your home, there are three key considerations: efficiency, ease and cost-effectiveness. Because when the moment comes around, (again and again and again) when the lawn needs to be done, it shouldn’t feel like an arduous chore.

And there’s no need to waste your hard-earned money on the lawn maintenance person to come around again and again (and again) to do it for you.

All you need to do is reach for your reliable, powerful gardening equipment to help you get the task done in a jiffy, and with minimal exertion—before moving on with the rest of your day.

With great quality outdoor power equipment in your hands to help you tend to your lawn, you have the satisfaction of doing it yourself, doing it fast and doing it easily. And, of course, saving yourself a ton of money over a period of weeks, months and years.

So, what are the essential gardening power tools you need to invest in to get the best-looking lawn in the neighbourhood—without breaking out in a sweat or draining your bank account? Let’s take a look at the top five must-have garden power tools for lawn care.

Garden Tools

Maintain Your Lawns With A Lawn Mower

Achieve a great-looking lawn with the ideal lawn mower for your specific needs. Consider the size of your lawn, your own ability and the amount of storage room you have when it’s not in use. If you have a small or medium yard, think about lightweight, easy-to-manoeuvre, cordless push lawn mowers, such as the WORX WG779E Cordless Push Lawn Mower. These energy-efficient gardening power tools are powered by 40V (2x20V) batteries that have a relatively lower upkeep cost than traditional fuel-powered mowers, yet are powerful enough to cut through thick, dense grass. They are also more environmentally friendly and much less noisy than fuelled mowers.

For the ultimate hands-off, feet-up approach to lawn mowing, there are robot lawn mowers, such as the WORX WR149E 700M2 WORX LANDROID Robot Lawn Mower. This model uses cloud computing in conjunction with your inputs to judge the parameters of your lawn and cuts it effortlessly while manoeuvring around obstacles.

Precision Edging with Line Trimmers

Once your lawn is cut, you are still not quite done. Because then it’s time to give your lawn edges a nice neat finish. Overall, it’s the difference between a superb-looking professional cut as opposed to a more ‘amateur’ look if you skip this part. With the right tool in your hands, you can achieve an amazing result with hardly any effort. A line trimmer (otherwise known as a grass trimmer) is a handy piece of gardening equipment that helps you trim around the edges of lawns and garden beds. If you are on the lookout for a multi-purpose trimmer, one like the WORX WG163E.2-B is one of the most versatile. It converts easily from a line trimmer to being an edger or a mini-mower without additional tools.

Keep Your Hedges In Check With A Hedge Trimmer

Hedges and shrubs are never far away from lawns. So once your lawn is cut and trimmed, it’s time to look to the side and attend to its immediate neighbours. With the right hedge trimmer, you can make your neat hedge a highlight of your street. There is no need to use heavy shears or fuel-powered trimmers to get the job done. You can shape and maintain your hedges and shrubs with cordless hedge trimmers such as those from WORX.  The WORX range of hedge trimmers are nimble enough to reach into even small nooks and crannies yet powerful enough to cut through the brush. WORX hedge trimmers are powered by high-quality 20V rechargeable batteries that can also be used for other cordless WORX tools, such as line trimmers.

 Chainsaws in Lawn Care

You may well ask why chainsaws are on this list. But while they may not be a piece of gardening equipment you immediately think of in relation to lawn care, chainsaws do have their place because overhanging tree branches are a constant source of fallen twigs and leaves that end up on the lawn.

Chainsaws enable you to handle tree-trimming tasks to help keep your yard tidy. If you are looking for a powerful cordless chainsaw, consider the WORX NITRO 40V WG385E.B2 model for outstanding performance, faster charging and longer runtime. It makes even heavy-duty cutting tasks fast and easy.

Have you ever disposed of batteries in regular recycling or household bins? It might seem like an easy solution, but it can actually harm both people and the planet. Binned batteries can cause fires and end up in landfill where they release toxic materials into waterways and ecosystems.

Battery Recycling – A Safe and Sustainable Solution

Thankfully, the B-cycle team (part of the Battery Stewardship Council of Australia) has taken steps to ensure that you can dispose of household batteries safely and recycle them at the same time. B-cycle is a free recycling service that offers over 3,200 battery recycling drop-off points around Australia.

Simply visit the B-cycle website to locate a nearby drop-off point. You can even specify the type of battery you need to dispose of – AA, Button, Power Tool, etc. – to ensure that the drop-off point is able to accept them.

How do you safely tape Lithium-ion Power Tool Batteries?

As manufacturers of the WORX Australia 20V lithium-ion POWERSHARE Batteries, we are committed to promoting safe battery disposal and recycling. It’s important to remember that when disposing of and recycling a Lithium-ion battery, the battery must be completely discharged, and the terminals must be clear taped.

Many other Lithium-ion power tool brand batteries have exposed metal that needs to be covered for safe disposal. Even though the WORX Australia Lithium-ion batteries have recessed terminals, it is best practice to tape these when safely disposing for recycling.

Why Recycle your Batteries?

Recycling batteries keeps toxic materials out of landfill, where they can contaminate soil and groundwater. It also ensures that valuable materials in batteries are recycled into something new, which reduces the amount of finite natural resources used in the production of new batteries.

What Happens to Your Recycled Batteries?

Batteries that are recycled are processed to recover plastics and metals, some of which are used to manufacture new batteries. Envirostream, Australia’s first onshore lithium, nickel metal, and alkaline battery processor, can recover 95% of the materials in batteries for recycling. Any steel, copper, and aluminum recovered is returned to the manufacturing sector for recycling, while the active components of lithium-ion batteries (including graphite, cobalt, nickel, and lithium) are used to produce a valuable product called mixed metal dust, which is used to create new lithium-ion batteries.

3 Simple Steps to Recycling your Batteries

Whether you are someone who actively seeks out recycling solutions or you are someone who simply has some old household batteries to dispose of, B-cycle is the answer.

Simply follow the 3 simple steps below:
1️. Never dispose of batteries in waste or recycling bins
2. Tape used battery terminals with clear sticky tape
3. Take used batteries to a @Bcycleaus Drop off point

See the video below to learn how to tape your AA and button batteries correctly and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Reciprocating Saw

A reciprocating saw has a blade that cuts back and forth in a straight line (as opposed to a circular saw). It’s one of the best power tools for home demolition and renovation projects because it requires minimal effort. It quickly cuts through plaster, wood, metal, PVC pipe, tile and nails. You just have to use the right blade. Because it’s battery-powered, it’s completely portable, which means you can easily use it on a ladder or even on the roof.

Reciprocating saws equipped with the appropriate blade can even be used for pruning overgrown trees and shrubs.

Brushless Angle Grinder

A brushless angle grinder is great for small to medium grinding and cutting jobs around the house. You can use it to remove rust and welding spatter, to sharpen tools and smooth out rough surfaces. Its brushless motor means more power and gives you a longer battery life. The WORX brushless Angle Grinder was designed with your safety in mind. An example is its electronic anti-kickback technology, which automatically shuts the tool down when a jam or snag is detected. This makes it great for beginners who could use an angle grinder to prepare surfaces for painting or restore old metal objects.

Orbital Sander

A cordless sander is a must have tool for every DIYer. An orbital sander is perhaps the most essential as it excels at delivering smooth, professional results through its circular sanding patterns. It’s perfect for big D.I.Y tasks like preparing walls for painting or refurbishing and upcycling furniture.

An orbital sander isn’t typically used for detail work, so if you are tossing up between an orbital sander vs a detail sander, then the WORX SANDECK 5-in-1 Multi-Sander may just be the answer! It’s a Finishing Sander, Orbital Sander, Detail Sander, Finger Sander and Curved Area Sander in 1! A true MVP!

Oscillating Multi Tool

Out of all the essential power tools for DIY enthusiasts and even some professionals, the oscillating multi tool is the most versatile. It’s a saw, grinder, sander and scraper – combined into one handy tool. All you have to do is change the accessories.

It is particularly useful for projects that require precision and maneuverability in confined or intricate spaces. Removing grout from between tiles, scraping up vinyl floor adhesive, making a plunge cut through plasterboard or cutting through a nail becomes light work with a Multi tool.  Once you use it on your home projects, it’ll quickly become a favourite!

5 Reasons To Buy A Robot Lawn Mower

5 Reasons To Buy A Robot Lawn Mower

You’ve heard about those robot vacuum cleaners that scoot around your house, tidying up your floors and scaring cats. Did you know that you can have the same convenience, and pet fun, with your lawn mower?

WORX has been producing, developing and selling the LANDROID robot lawn mowers since 2014. There are many good reasons to invest in a robot lawn mower for your garden. We’re going to give you the top 5 reasons we believe you need a LANDROID mower in your life.

1. Robot Lawn Mowers Are Extremely Convenient

Robot lawn mowers do the mowing for you. They can head out and cut the lawn on a Sunday morning while you’re still drinking your first cup of morning brew.

You have lawn care without taking up your precious time.

They are also fantastically convenient if you only have a small patch of grass to mow. If you’re living in a townhouse with a small backyard, it might not be ideal to purchase a full-sized lawn mower and store it. Our robot mowers are perfect for the small front or backyard of inner suburbia, ensuring a pristine patch all year round.

2. They’re An Energy Efficient Lawn Mower

Our LANDROID robot mowers are small and efficient electrical mowers. You only need to make sure they can recharge at their station and they take care of the rest.

They are much better for the environment, too. Petrol-powered mowers have a mess of problems when it comes to the environment, from direct emissions to the process of getting fuel from the ground.

The electric motors, too, are better for the environment, and are much easier to maintain. No burning fuel means no residue to clean from the engine, which then runs down stormwater drains and to the sea.

3. They’re A Quiet Lawn Mower Option

While there is a whizzing noise of the blades cutting the grass, you won’t have the throaty growl and cough of a 2-stroke engine.

Also, their small size, smaller than the full-sized electric mowers, means a smaller engine, and this means less noise.

They are quiet and go about their business. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity of the outdoors while your lawn gets a trim.

4. They’re Tough and Reliable

Our LANDROID robot mowers are built solid and tough. Rugged little units that are not going to fall apart at the sight of a pebble or tough, Australian weed.

Plus, our LANDROIDs have a rain sensor, so they return to the charging station and out of the rain.

The electrical motors are more reliable than a petrol-powered unit as well. Twin brushless motors ensure constant blade speed, which were tested on buffalo grass, Australia’s toughest lawn grass.

5. Minimal Lawn Mower Maintenance

The small size of our LANDROIDs, and the constant upkeep of your lawn, means you won’t be doing as much maintenance. Often, we leave the lawn mowing as long as we can, because it is a chore, especially if you have big lawns.

LANDROIDs are designed for smaller lawns, (up to 1500m2) and a more frequent upkeep. This keeps the lawns nice and evenly cut, with very little wear and tear to your lawn mower.

You don’t have to check and change oil with electric mowers, no spark plugs to replace, and no hoses to check for leaks of fuel. All you need to do is ensure your LANDROID can get to its charging station to recharge its 20V POWERSHARE battery and sharpen your blades once a mowing cycle.

Top 5 Tips & Hacks to keep your home cool this Summer

Top 5 Tips & Hacks to keep your home cool this Summer

It’s December in Melbourne, and to be honest, I assumed I would have employed a few of these tips already. Instead, I am rugged up in a jumper and anticipating a dash to the washing line before the rain strikes. Still, I know that heat is coming and when it does, I’ll be in my brick rental, wishing for jumper weather and extra layers again.

Last year was my first summer in a 1920’s rental, and like millions of other Aussie’s, adding insulation, air-conditioning, or planting trees to shade their home isn’t an option. In my quest for cool, I found a few renter-friendly tips to keep you and yours chill this Summer too.

Tip 1: Fill the Gaps

Before the real summer heat is upon us, it is worthwhile checking for any gaps around your doors or windows where some sneaky heat might seep in. Have a look and listen for whistles or rattles and feel for any air that might be pushing through.

Sustainability Victoria has some tips to help find and seal the gaps to ensure your pad is primed for a cool Summer.

Tip 2: Curtain Call

The most common tip to mitigate unwanted heat in your home is to reduce the penetration through your glass windows and doors. Thermal Block out curtains are designed specifically for better insulation and help reduce your electricity bills, but most window coverings would assist during peak temperatures. I do have some family friends who have sworn by a cold, damp sheet in front of an open window once the temp is cooler outside than in. I must note that was in the 1970’s though.

Tip 3: Check your bulbs

Something we may forget when moving from colder to warmer months, are our lightbulbs. Although incandescent bulbs aren’t as common these days, there very well could be some stragglers lurking in a lamp or ceiling near you, radiating extra warmth. No time like the present to double check and make the swap to an energy-efficient alternative. Better yet, check out the cordless WORX 20V 4-in-1 LED Light that operates as a torch, 360 lantern, desk lamp (with 2 settings), and an emergency light. Lighting for EVERY mood.

Tip 4: Set you ceiling fan to Summer rotation

Something I was previously oblivious to; was the importance of which way a ceiling fan should rotate. I honestly thought “rotating” was the only thing that mattered. It turns out, a counterclockwise direction is essential to push air straight down and create that cooling effect we crave. A clockwise direction will simply redistribute trapped hot air upwards. So check your fans!

Tip 5: A Fan’s fan

The trusty fan is thought of as a necessity during Summer, especially when air con isn’t an option. There are some pretty genius hacks circulating online and they don’t involve the most expensive fans on the market. The most popular hack involves a shallow bowl of ice, or a frozen bottle of ice water placed between you and your fan. Instant AC!

If you are in need of a new fan, the WORX 20V AC/DC (Corded/Cordless) Jobsite Fan is the perfect sidekick. Indoors or out, this cordless gem is the coolest companion since the Fonz. With multiple hanging options, 360-degree swivel range and its 20V cordless convenience, this bad boy can cool you down ANYWHERE.

So, there you have it, a few tips to help keep your home a little cooler and you from sweltering. We would love to hear your feedback and tips of your own if you would like to share with us.

Hedge Trimming 101: How to Get Your Shrubs Spring-Ready

Hedge Trimming 101: How to Get Your Shrubs Spring-Ready

Well-kept shrubs and hedges can do a lot to enhance your home landscape design. Neglecting them, however, will cause your home to look unkempt and may have a negative impact on the health of your plants. Many homeowners put off tasks like pruning and hedge trimming because they worry that they do not know how to do the job properly, and don’t feel like expending the effort on something that could do more harm than good. In reality, hedge trimming is a job for anyone up to the task. All you need are the right tools and a little time to understand some of the finer points of hedge trimming. Adding a battery-powered hedge trimmer to your toolkit is a sure-fire way to ensure your greenery will be in tip-top shape whenever you need.

When to use a Hedge Trimmer:

The first thing you need to understand is the right time of year to trim your hedges and shrubs. If you’re working with your standard non-flowering shrubs, you want to do most of your trimming after the new growth has formed. For plants with Spring-blooming flowers, you should do your trimming after they bloom. When trimming plants with flowers that bloom in the Summer, look to maintain them in late Winter or early Spring. In addition to the annual trimming where you do most of your maintenance and shaping, you are also going to want to do some periodic trimming to help the shrubs and hedges maintain their shape.

Choosing the Right Hedge Trimmer:

Having the right trimming tools can make a significant difference when it comes to the amount of time and effort you put into the task. It also impacts the quality of the results you get. At a minimum, you are going to need a set of handheld pruners to perform the pruning. However, if you have thick branches that need to be cut, it can help to have a set of loppers, a small one handed pruning saw or even a Multi-Purpose Reciprocating Jigsaw. For trimming, you have the choice of using hedge shears or an electric or battery powered hedge trimmer. Some people still prefer the old manual hand shears, but there are several advantages to using electric or battery powered hedge trimmers. Cordless (battery-powered) hedge trimmers will make the job easier to achieve cleaner, straighter cuts, in less time. For most homes, the WORX 20V Cordless Hedge Trimmer is an ideal option. A big advantage of using a battery-powered hedge trimmer is the fact it’s well balanced and lightweight, making it easy to handle for both top trimming and side trimming. The 20V POWERSHARE Battery offers a runtime that should be more than enough for clipping the hedges on most residential properties. If you have a large garden to maintain then the WORX 40V (2 x 20V) Hedge Trimmer with its large 60cm cutting length, 27mm cutting capacity & dual laser blades will do the trick. If you are lucky enough to have lovely lush, high hedge and trees, the WORX 20V Pole Pruning Chainsaw & Hedge Trimmer Kit could be a great investment for years to come.

Pruning with a Hedge Trimmer:

Start your pruning by removing any branches that are dead, damaged, or diseased. After that, look at the hedge to identify any branches that you want to remove. Generally, you are going to look for branches that do not conform to the desired shape. You should also use your cordless hedge trimmer or check out the WORX 20V Zen Shrub Shear & Grass Shear Kit to remove any small offshoots that are growing near the base of the shrub. They can take nutrients away from the rest of the limbs and impact the overall quality of the growth on the rest of the plant.

Hedge Trimming 101:

Start by using your cordless hedge trimmer to cut the sides near the bottom and gradually work your way to the top. Remember, you want to make sure light can get to the lower portions of the hedge. For that reason, you should try to achieve a slight angle with the base of the shrub being slightly wider than the top. To cut the sides, you just want to turn the blades of your battery powered hedge trimmer, so they are working vertically instead of horizontally. The WORX 40V (2 x 20V) Hedge Trimmer  features a rotating rear handle and full wrap front handle which makes vertical or angle cutting very easy.

For small to medium size hedges, you could cut the top by simply holding the cutting blades of your battery powered hedge clippers straight and working your way across the top. For longer hedges, you are going to want to have a guide to ensure straight cuts. If the hedges are near the house, you could use the siding or some other object as a cutting guide. If not, you can set up stakes at either end of the hedge and run a string line at the desired height.

There are two keys to good hedge trimming: Let the cordless hedge trimmer do the work – don’t force the blades into the shrub. Second, don’t try to trim everything away all at once. Instead, make shallow passes over the hedge and work your way down to the desired height.
