WORX Warranty

Positec Australia Pty Limited ACN 101 682 357 provide the following warranties for all WORX products determined by Positec Australia Pty Limited to have a defect or major failure in their materials or workmanship. 


Standard Replacement Warranty

In addition to any rights and remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law and any other applicable law, if your WORX product becomes defective due to faulty materials or workmanship within a period of 2 years from the date of purchase (or 3 years from the date of purchase, if you have registered your WORX product online within 30 days of purchase), we guarantee to:

  • Replace the item; or
  • Provide a full refund.
 
 

Extended Warranty (Online registration only)

You may extend the warranty period of your WORX product (some product exclusions apply) to 3-years, by completing our online registration found here:

Your warranty is subject to the following conditions:

  • The product has not been misused, abused, neglected, altered, modified or repaired.
  • Only genuine WORX accessories and parts have been used on or with the product.
  • The product has been subjected to fair wear and tear.
  • The product has not been used for trade or professional purposes.
  • The product has not been used for rental purposes.
  • The product has not sustained damage through foreign objects, substances or accidents.
  • The 3-year warranty period will only apply if you register your WORX product on the internet at au.worx.com within 30 days of purchase (without registration, the 2-year standard warranty period will apply).
  • Battery packs & Chargers are guaranteed for a 12-month period only, regardless of online product registration.
  • The warranty period is not renewed or extended as a result of a replacement product being provided.
  • The warranty is not transferable and is only offered to the original end user of the Product.
  • The warranty does not extend to any products that have been completely or partially disassembled.
 
 

Your warranty does not cover:

  • Any costs incurred by the end user in normal or scheduled maintenance of the product.
  • Components that are subject to natural wear and tear caused by use in accordance with operating instructions. (Consumables, such as bulbs, blades, carbon brushes, O-rings, etc.)
  • Failure or damage due to excessive use within the warranty period. For the purposes of this warranty, excessive use is deemed to have occurred when a product is assessed by Positec Australia as displaying wear & tear that is considered abnormal for a product of its age, when used in the regular manner and in the normal application the product was designed for.
  • Incorrect installation of all components of the product as outlined in our instruction manual.
  • Any defects or failures that arise due to unauthorised/improper maintenance, handling or overload of products and accessories otherwise than in accordance with instructions provided, or without reasonable care, are excluded from this warranty.
  • Any damage to property, personal injury, direct or indirect loss, consequential losses or other expenses arising from breach of this warranty.
  • Accidental damage or use of the product in conditions for which the products were not designed or sold, or use of the products outside the specified or normal operating ranges, such as commercial / professional use.
 

Important note for Australian consumers: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.


Invalid Claims

For any claims deemed to be invalid under this warranty, Positec Australia has no obligation to provide a refund or replacement and will not be liable for any costs incurred in making the warranty claim, including transport or return freight.


How to make a claim:

To make a claim you will need to provide:

  • Model number of your product.
  • Online registration document (if claiming under the 3-year warranty)
  • Proof of purchase in the form of a valid receipt that displays the date and place of purchase.
  • Serial number of your product.
  • A description of the defect with the product.
  • Supporting evidence (such as photos or videos)
 

Positec Australia reserves the right to inspect any products, or accessories on which a warranty claim is being made, in order to assess eligibility of the actual item for warranty and to ensure appropriate resolution of the warranty claim.

Once your return request is reviewed, a customer service representative will make contact and provide further details. If applicable, a replacement item will be dispatched, or a refund will be processed.

Any expense you incur in claiming under the WORX warranty will be borne by you. If the product is not faulty, or the fault is caused by misuse or abnormal use, WORX has no obligation to provide a refund or replacement.


Refunds

If a refund is applicable, it will be processed within 10 business days of your claim being approved. The refund will be processed through bank transfer, credit card refund, or PayPal refund, depending on how you made your purchase.

All refunds being processed via PayPal will be less any fee levied by PayPal unless the refund is due to the fault of WORX. This aligns with PayPal’s Fee Refund Policy and the fee amount will vary according to the PayPal Terms & Conditions.

  • I purchased my product overseas – can I claim warranty in Australia?

If your product was not purchased through WORX Australia, it won’t be eligible for warranty, and you’ll need to lodge any warranty claims with the original seller.

To claim your WORX warranty, you’ll need a valid proof of purchase: an order # / receipt from WORX. You can also use a credit or debit card statement that specifically verifies the purchase.

  • My WORX product was a gift, and I have no receipt, what can I do?

You will need to ask the gift giver for a copy of their receipt/ order details in case you need to make a warranty claim.

  • What is not covered under extended warranty?

Batteries and chargers are only covered under warranty for 12 months from the original date of purchase. Accessories are excluded from extended warranty periods.

  • I purchased my product from somewhere other than WORX, can I still register it?

  • Do you have service agents I can take my product to for repair?

Unfortunately, we do not have any dedicated service agents.

  • Is shipping covered under the warranty?

Shipping costs may be covered depending on the nature of the warranty claim. If a product needs to be returned, we may provide a shipping label or reimburse shipping costs in certain circumstances. Please check with customer support for details.

  • Can I transfer my warranty if I sell my product?

Warranties are non-transferable. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser.
